£35,000 per annum
40 hours per week Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM (Weekends Off)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in Bolton in a contract catering setting. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual to take responsibility for the overall kitchen operation while enjoying sociable hours and weekends off. For the role of Head chef you must be able to pass DBS and security clearance checks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the production of breakfast, lunch, and hospitality services.
- Take full responsibility for kitchen operations and ensure the delivery of high-quality food throughout service.
- Manage the kitchen's P&L, contributing to financial performance and adhering to budgets.
- Handle all kitchen administration, including stock management, ordering, and monthly stock counts.
- Champion and enforce daily and weekly cleaning schedules, ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, service, and presentation at all times.
- Ensure all processes and procedures are followed, including checklists and sanitation practices.
- Monitor food production, food costs, and staffing levels.
- Prepare food, follow recipes, and stay up-to-date with industry trends.
- Review and update menus and manage allergens accordingly.
- Train, develop, and lead the kitchen team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Ensure portion control and consistent quality across all dishes, including retail and hospitality.
- Support the Operations Manager with budgeting and product ordering.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the kitchen and its operations.
- Undertake ad hoc duties as required by the business.
- Manage the kitchen and team effectively, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Responsible for ordering, production, and stock management.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, and GP targets for the unit.
- The role requires the Head Chef to undergo DBS and security clearance checks.

What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef in a similar role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and administrative abilities.
- A passion for delivering high-quality food and service.
- Knowledge of food hygiene, safety regulations, and kitchen best practices.
- Ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively.
- Must be able to pass DBS and security clearance checks.
