Interim HR Manager – Cheshire
Location: Cheshire
Job Type: Interim (Fixed-Term/Contract) Potential for Permanent role
Hours: Full-time -Monday -Friday 40hrs ( flexibility on part time considered)
Salary: £45,000 pro rota
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Manager to support our business during a period of transition in Cheshire. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who can quickly build relationships, provide expert guidance, and ensure HR best practice is maintained across the organisation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive HR service, supporting managers and employees, managing employee relations matters, and ensuring compliance with employment legislation.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day HR advice and support to managers and employees.
Lead and manage employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management, and performance issues.
Conduct and support formal disciplinary and grievance investigations, hearings, and appeals in line with company policy and employment law.
Advise managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practice.
Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation and company policies.
Support recruitment activities, onboarding, and induction processes.
Oversee performance management and employee development initiatives.
Monitor sickness absence and support managers with attendance management.
Review and update HR policies and procedures where required.
Maintain accurate HR records and produce management reports.
Support organisational change projects, including restructures and consultations where necessary.
Work closely with senior leadership to provide strategic and operational HR support.
Promote employee engagement and help foster a positive workplace culture.
Person Specification
Essential:
CIPD or equivalent experience.
Previous experience in an HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor role.
Strong knowledge of UK employment law.
Significant experience managing complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary and grievance processes.
Experience conducting investigations and advising managers through formal HR procedures.
Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to work independently and make sound commercial decisions.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR information systems.
