This Private school is seeking a talented and motivated Chef Manager to join their catering team. This is a brand-new role, one of three Chef Manager positions, with two already in place. Your Role
As Chef Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining the school’s reputation for delivering high-quality food and customer service. You will oversee catering across two kitchens serving four dining rooms, ensuring that pupils, staff, and guests receive exceptional meals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management – Lead a team of chefs and catering assistants, maintaining high motivation and morale.
- Food Service Excellence – Oversee menu planning, food preparation, and service, ensuring high standards and dietary requirements are met.
- Health & Safety & Hygiene – Ensure full compliance with food hygiene regulations, HACCP, allergen policies, and workplace safety.
- Budget Management – Manage food costs, stock control, and supplier relationships, ensuring cost efficiency.
- Customer Satisfaction – Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents, responding to feedback and maintaining high service standards.
- Training & Development – Support staff development, conduct briefings and ensure the team adheres to best practices.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- Experience managing a team of up to 8 staff in a fast-paced kitchen
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Passion for high-quality food and customer service
- Experience with food safety regulations, allergens, and HACCP
- IT proficiency and commercial awareness
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
- Experience in the education sector
- Background in high-quality commercial catering
- 3+ years of kitchen supervisory or management experience
- Experience managing budgets and stock control
