As Baker you will play a key role in producing high-quality bread and baked goods to 5-star standards within a luxury Cheshire hotel. Working as a Baker in a brand-new kitchen, you will use state-of-the-art ovens, top-of-the-line kit, and high-spec baking machinery to deliver exceptional products consistently. This Baker role involves working with premium ingredients, following established recipes, and supporting the daily operation of both the bakery and kitchen, ensuring outstanding quality across all food outlets.
Key Responsibilities
Bakery Production
Produce a range of breads and baked goods including sourdough, rolls, Viennoiserie and specialty items
Follow recipes, specifications, and production schedules
Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of all bakery items
Support daily mise en place and production requirements
Quality & Standards
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the bakery
Ensure correct storage, labelling, and stock rotation of ingredients
Minimise waste and support cost control initiatives
Uphold all kitchen and bakery standards at all times
Teamwork & Development
Work closely with the pastry and kitchen teams to meet service demands
Support service across multiple outlets including restaurant, banqueting, room service, and colleague dining
Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop
Take feedback constructively and continuously improve skills
Health, Safety & Compliance
Comply with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP regulations
Maintain high standards of health & safety within the bakery
Wear appropriate protective clothing at all times
Report any accidents, defects, or hazards in line with hotel procedures
Attend all mandatory health & safety and fire training
Skills & Experience Required
Previous experience as a Baker or Commis Baker in a professional high end kitchen or bakery environment
Knowledge of bread production and basic baking techniques
Passion for quality ingredients and craftsmanship
Ability to work early shifts and meet production deadlines
Strong teamwork and communication skills
NVQ/ City and guilds or equivalent and or bakery qualifications beneficial but not essential
