Salary: £35,000 per annum plus £2000 tips
Hours: 50 hours per week
We are seeking a talented and driven Pastry Sous Chef to lead the pastry section in a high-end kitchen at a stunning venue in Skipton. This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative pastry professional to bring their skills and ideas to a forward-thinking team, working with quality ingredients in an inspiring environment.
The Role:
As Pastry Sous Chef, you will take full responsibility for the pastry offering, supporting the Head Chef in delivering high-quality desserts, afternoon teas, bakery items, and bespoke event creations. You’ll have creative input in menu development and ensure consistent standards are maintained across all service periods.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the day-to-day running of the pastry section
Design and produce innovative desserts and baked goods
Maintain high standards of food presentation and quality
Oversee stock control, ordering, and section hygiene
Train and mentor junior team members
Collaborate with the wider kitchen team for events, banquets, and afternoon teas
Contribute to seasonal menu planning and development

About You:
Previous experience as a Pastry Chef or Pastry Sous in a quality kitchen
Strong knowledge of patisserie, chocolate work, baking, and plated desserts
Excellent organisational and leadership skills
High standards of cleanliness and food safety
Creative flair and a passion for quality ingredients
Calm, positive, and driven to succeed
